Well, Iv'e just got back from a fantastic weekend of Motorsport in France.
I was asked by my friend Jim Little, who was the builder of many Works Rally cars from the Sunbeam Lotus to the Rs 200's used by Mark Lovell and Stig Blomquist, to attend the 30Th Aniversary Reunion Celebrating Peugeot Talbot winning the WRC with their little Sunbeam Lotus.
The event was organised by a private collector who has in his collection many of the Works Sunbeams including my old car SVC 333W.
I also had the honour of delivering his latest purchase, the very car presented to the Talbot Rally Team Principal Des O'Dell for his work in capturing the WRC Title for the Factory Team. His cars finishe 1st, 3rd and 4th place on the RAC Rally and so secured the World Rally Championship in 1981.
This car, a Lotus Sunbeam was presented later that year with the exclusive regestration RAC 134 W.
The event was attended by many of the " Works" Team Members who all helped in securing the Title and my good friend Russell Brookes also made a special trip to drive with us at the Sprint which was held on the Sunday.
All in all a fantastic time with me seeing my old car and having a drive in the newly restored Works Sunbeam of Guy Frequelin. KDU 111V.
So thanks to everyone who attended and helped make a great weekend.
